A 102-year-old woman Nonye Ezeanyaeche has declared intention to be Nigeria’s president in 2023.
Ezeanyaeche is an indigene of Aguata in Anambra State and the founder of Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria.
The centenarian disclosed her ambition during a recent visit to the management of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Abuja.
Popularly known in her circle as Mama Africa, Ezeanyaeche is a recipient of the African Peace Award 2021.
It was not immediately clear under which political party she would seek the elective position.
However, the president of Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria, Caro Nwosu, noted that Ezeanyaeche has her manifesto ready.
NTA director-general Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, who received Ezeanyaeche and her entourage, described her as patriot, nationalist and advocate of a better Nigeria.
Other presidential hopefuls include Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki, Rochas Okorocha, Dave Umahi, Kingsley Moghalu and Anyim Pius.
