At least 145 Nigerians have returned to the country from Sudan as the world’s economies begin to recover from the shutdown occasioned by the coronavirus.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) said on Twitter on Friday that the returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 12:45 pm via Air Sudan.
The commission said all evacuees tested negative for the coronavirus (COVID-19) before embarking on the flight.
It, however, added that they would proceed on 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Federal Ministry of Health.
The Sudan evacuation comes hours after 167 Nigerians arrived in Abuja from South Africa.
