Two Journalists were killed after being allegedly hit by a local leader’s car in India’s Eastern State of Bihar, Police said on Monday.
The journalists working with the vernacular press were run over by a village’s head car in Bhojpur district, around 80 km west of Patna, the capital of Bihar.
“In a tragic incident that took place on Sunday, two bike-borne journalists were crushed to death after a speeding car hit them,’’ a police official said.
The deceased were identified as Navin Nishchal and Vijay Singh.
Nishchal worked for a known local Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar, while as Singh was associated with another local media outlet.
According to locals they were on their way to Arrah town when the car hit them on Arrah-Sasaram highway.
Local media reports said the car was being driven by a local leader.
