The 2017 Euro U-21 Championship is on currently with England one of the favourites to clinch the title.

The young Three Lions have racked up four points from their first two games against Sweden and Slovakia.

A victory in their final group tie with host, Poland, will all but cement their place in the semi-final.

Once again, England is being assisted by players of Nigerian heritage in accomplishing big things.

About seven were part of the victorious U-20 squad that won the FIFA World Cup last month.

Now another two are making the headlines for Aidy Boothroyd’s team in Poland.

Tammy remains eligible to represent Nigeria through his father and has in the past been sounded out by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

  1. Dominic Iorfa

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, Dominic Iorfa, is the second player of Nigerian descent in Poland. Although, the 21-year-old is yet to feature for Aidy Boothroyd’s team, he is one of the most experienced member of the squad. Iorfa has also featured for the country’s U-18’s and U-20’s teams. He is the son of a former Nigeria veteran striker who bears the same name. The skilful utility defender has made over 80 appearances for Wolves since breaking into the first team in 2014. According to his father, Iorfa will consider playing for Nigeria only after his 23rd birthday.
