Former vice-presidential candidate Peter Obi on Saturday night replied a Twitter user that he had no money after he was threatened over the 2023 presidency.
The Twitter user @FakeBuhari had threatened to sue Mr Obi if he does not declare interest in the presidency before the end of January. The threat came after Obi praised the Super Eagles following their victory over Sudan at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
“Sir, if at the end of this month and you don’t declare interest for presidency in the 2023 election, then be ready for a legal action from me,” @FakeBuhari tweeted.
“Leave #AFCON2021 for Orji UZOR Kalu, that’s his calling, not yours. Your calling is excellent economic leadership.”
Obi replied, “I wish I knew your real name. But the truth is, I don’t have money to spend on a court case o. Give me some time.”
Obi, an ex-governor of Anambra State, was the running mate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While Atiku had said he would contest again for the party’s presidential ticket this year, Obi has not made his political future known to the public.
