Senator Rochas Okorocha (APC, Imo West) has announced his intention to contest for the presidency in 2023.
The former governor informed the Senate President Ahmad Lawan of his ambition in a letter.
Lawan read the letter at the commencement of Wednesday’s plenary.
Okorocha said he would address a press conference next week where he will speak more on his intention.
Those who have also declared their interest in the presidency in the ruling party are Bola Tinubu and Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi.
