Popstar, 2face Idibia, has received knock for endorsing a post condemning Nigerians’ belief in religious texts like the Bible.
The singer had shared a post by literary critic, Pa Ikhide, calling the Bible a tool of oppression and work of fiction on Instagram on Thursday.
He captioned the post: “Africa Wake up #openyourmind #openyoureyes #ONELOVERELIGION Emancipate yourself from mental slavery.”
The artiste received criticism from his fans for sharing the post.
Sonia_1226: “You get small and you think God doesn’t exist..I pity you.”
Worldtribunal: “The slavery in the bible is not the slavery the white man used o, the slavery in the bible is the houseboy/housegirl work where fortunate people take in less fortunate people and make them work whilst caring for them because they can’t care for themselves …it’s not that deep, the white man has remixed the whole world, but it’s not everything.”
Mrfeminem: “In as much as I agree that religion has done more harm than goodto us as Africans, i dont think that justifies bashing of “The holy bible”. We have all failed humanity and, on a lighter note, the next bible shall record this all. I plead the authors to be unbiased and authentic. Lol.”
Allwell99: “You are promoting the anti Christ religion … you worker of iniquity”
Responding to the criticism, 2baba wrote: “GOD is great. Nobody talk different 4 here. Make una just stop 2 worship imams pastors and priests. Africa wake up #ONELOVERELIGION.”
