Singer Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has expressed his thoughts on the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump.
Taking to his Instagram Story on Monday, 2Baba suggested that the attempt might have been staged, comparing it to a performance by Hollywood actor Jussie Smollett.
“Jussie Smollett dey learn. I go shock if I wrong but this shit na pure package. All Black everything. Hollywood dey learn,” the singer remarked, implying that the incident was orchestrated.
Fashion designer and author Toyin Lawani also shared her reaction to the failed assassination on Saturday, commenting on a post by the US blog Hodgetwins.
Lawani quipped, “And the best actor of the year goes to Tbaby,” hinting at her skepticism about the authenticity of the event.
The dramatic incident occurred on Saturday during a rally in Pennsylvania, where Trump, who is campaigning for another four-year tenure at The White House, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.
Trump was delivering his speech when gunshots were fired, and he was grazed on the side of his head.
Secret Service officials quickly intervened, shouting at him to get down as they surrounded him and escorted him off the stage into a vehicle.
The US Secret Service stated that it killed the shooter as the police investigate the incident.
According to reports, one attendee died, and two others were critically injured.
