Singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has reacted to comedian Basketmouth’s remarks about his public announcement of separation from actress Annie Idibia.
2Baba’s revelation about the split recently sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many celebrities weighing in.
However, Basketmouth, who went through his own divorce in 2022, made it clear that he had no intention of getting involved in the controversy.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on January 30, the comedian explained why he was staying out of the matter.
“I have been receiving lots of emails and DMs from people asking why I don’t want to get involved in 2Baba and Annie’s matters. I have known 2Baba for 27 years and I met Annie 24 years ago,” he said.
“First of all, I’m not in any position to get involved because I’m not qualified at all. Make I no go talk the one wey go make people remember my own, con dey drag my head.
“This new year 2025 wey we just enter, I’m just trying to have an undraggable year. Please, don’t push me.”
In another video with fellow comedian I Go Save, Basketmouth, who is currently promoting his upcoming show, jokingly lamented that 2Baba and Annie’s marital drama had overshadowed his event, saying the singer could have waited a little longer before making the announcement.
Amused by the comedian’s remarks, 2Baba took to his Instagram Story on Thursday to react to the video.
“Allegedly jokes are not apart anymore. Basketmouth goated,” he wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
