Constitutional lawyer Kayode Ajulo on Friday said three state governors in northern Nigeria are willing to support Peter Obi in becoming president in 2023.
Ajulo, however, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that Mr Obi needs to show seriousness by reaching out to more stakeholders across the country.
“I will still say Peter Obi is not ready to be president because he is not ready to cross River Niger and even River Owena,’’ Ajulo said.
The lawyer noted that there is need to take advantage of time before campaigns begin in order to reach out to the northern part of the country.
“I am aware of three governors from the north who have given indications to support him,” he said.
Ajulo urged Obi to move beyond southern Nigeria and reach out to the northern part, as “selling himself to the people of northern extraction may change the narrative.’’
The legal practitioner called on the Labour Party presidential candidate to go beyond social media and reach out to every nook and cranny of the country.
