A 400 level student of the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) was on Tuesday killed on campus by a car driven by a fellow student.
The victim, Joseph Agbor, was studying civil engineering at the main campus of the university in Calabar.
Eyewitnesses said the victim was sitting by the drainage when a car driven by a 200 level student ran into him.
The driver of the car was said to have taken Agbor to the health centre on campus where he was later pronounced dead.
Cross River police spokesperson, Irene Ugbo, confirmed on Wednesday that the driver has been arrested.
“He is with us. Why was he driving recklessly on campus? We are investigating whether he was drunk at the time the incident happened and we want to find out other causes of the accident,” she said.
