Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Shan George, Nkem Owoh and Tonto Dikeh have had a singing career to forget but there are some Nollywood actors who can actually sing. In fact they straddle both sides of the fence effortlessly.
Below are five Nigerian actors with lovely voices.
- Bisola Aiyeola
A housemate in the ongoing Big Brother Naija, the British-born talent is one of Nollywood’s finest and also a voice over artiste.
She has featured in over 15 movies including Forever with Us, President for a Day, The Patient, The Outlaws, Diary of a Nigerian Couple and Skinny Girl in Transit.
The mother of one participated in the first season of MTN project Fame West Africa in 2008 where she finished fifth.
The statement that “you do not forget your first love” is true in her case as her voice is still beautiful.
- Gideon Okeke
Popular for his role as Phillip Ade-Williams in Tinsel, the longest running Nigerian soap opera, Gideon Okeke was part of the maiden Big Brother Nigeria Reality TV show in 2006.
He has also starred in movies such as 93 Days, A Place in the Stars, Gbomo Gbomo Express and When Love Happens.
It turns out Gideon has an awesome voice too.
- Adesua Etomi
The Wedding Party star even takes it up a notch by being able to play the guitar.
The light skinned Edo beauty shows off her vocal skills in feature films Ayamma: Music in the Desert and Tears for Cindy.
- Stella Damasus
The veteran actress has a remarkable voice to go with her beautiful face.
Although popularly known as an actor, the mother of two actually started out as a singer. She used to work as a studio session singer at the famous Klink Studios owned by filmmaker Kingsley Ogoro.
Stella got into the limelight as an actor with the movie, Breaking Point, produced by Emem Isong.
She was a member of Synergy Band with her first husband, Jaiye Aboderin, until his death in December 2014.
The band released an album titled One Day with the hit single ‘Love Song’.
She released her debut solo album, The Alternative, in April 2016.
- Segun Arinze
Before he became the ‘bad boy’ actor fans love to watch, the man born Segun Aina had a thriving music career, with his 1982 debut album titled Dreams released under Premier Music.
The voice-over artiste’s biggest song is titled ‘Nwanyi Nganga’.
