The 6th edition of the AMVCA is less than 24-hours away and excitement is almost at fever pitch level as celebrities from the movie industry will be looking to out dress each other.
Before the red carpets roll and celebrities start behaving badly here are five things to look out for come September 1.
- Poor fashion choices
It is no doubt that one of the highlights of the evening will be fashion choice as many of the celebrities will be looking to stand out with their dress. Sadly, like every award show there will always be that one person or a group of people that will make us scream ‘why’.
- The hosts’ appearance
Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa and South Africa’s Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini have been confirmed to host this year’s show as they have done in the last three years.
If Minnie’s past appearance is anything to go by, then we expect her to slay every attire she adorns and show off some ample assets.
IK won’t be left out as we expect him to give us some man crush vibes.
- The long speeches
What is an award show without a winner to deliver a long boring speech? Unless AMVCA turns Oscar and gives winners only 45 seconds to give their acceptance speech, we can expect to hear someone mention over 50 names while going back and forth. We get it, you are grateful.
- Mispronunciation of names
What are the chances that a celebrity will wrongly pronounce a name? About 50%. It is an award for Africans which means there are chances that most people don’t know how to pronounce names from other countries. Let us just pray it is not embarrassing.
- Disappointment
Many actors will go home feeling disappointed that they did not win a category they felt they should have won. Many will feel hard done by because they think they merit an award.
