He captioned the picture, “Plus another year today! I have every reason to say ‘thank you ALLAH’… IT IS WELL.”
Below are five things you probably did not know about the The Wedding Party actor.
Origination of Saka
The nickname ‘Saka’ came from his character in a TV show Area C and House Apart. Area C was a very popular show on Nigerian policemen, and at the time it was the second most popular comedy show in Nigeria.
The movie projected Afeez to the limelight, and he went ahead to produce House Apart with a fellow colleague and played the role of Saka there, and so the name was born.
He is a lecturer
Saka is a lecturer and he teaches theatre arts at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education.
One would imagine having Saka as a professor would be fun but he says “my students know the difference between Saka and Hafiz. When I am working, I am working, and when I am making people laugh, I am doing that. They are two different things and my students know the difference.”
Features in MTN advert
He featured as the main character in a 2013 MTN advert where he announced ‘I don port o.’ It was reported that he was on a N20 million per annum contract with MTN, and he was contracted for 5 years.
Turned down an opportunity to be a minister
Saka down the appointment given to him by then President Goodluck Jonathan as one of his ministers.
In a message to Twitter, Saka said he was not happy with Jonathan because he did not improve the lives of many Nigerians who really needed the help.
Married late
According to Saka, he said he married late because he was poor and didn’t have enough to cater for a wife. Presently he is married to Olaide Oyetoro. They have two sons Abdullahi Oyetoro and Munim Oyetoro, and a daughter Rufiat Oyetoro.
