Alternative soul singer, Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula, aka Bez, clocked 33 on Thursday.

- Musical background
The multitalented artiste was born into a musical family. His father was a guitarist, while his mother was a singer. His sister, Lydia Idakula-Sobogun, is the CEO of Gbagyichild Entertainment and Founder of Taruwa Arts Festival.
- Political father
At age of 12, Bez lost his father, who was a politician and gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa State.
- Political father-in-law
Bez got married to Bolatito, the daughter of former Oyo State Governor, Rasheed Ladoja, in 2014 and together they have a son, Joshua.
- World tours
Bez released his debut album Super Sun, which housed his hit single, ‘That Stupid Song’ and title track in 2011. He has performed on several big stages notably the 2012 Applause Africa Award ceremony honouring Angelique Kidjo in Manhattan, New York.
- Philanthropy
The graduate of Information and Communications Technology from the Covenant University runs a charity organisation named after him – Bez Idakula Foundation – for kids who can’t afford education, and help transform their lives in a positive way.
