Nigerian R&B singer, Timi Dakolo, born January 20, 1981, clocked 36 on Friday.
Born in Accra, Ghana to a Nigerian father, David, and a Ghanaian mother, Norah, who died when he was 13, Timi started singing in church at the age of 12.
Timi was a founding member of the singing group, Purple Love, in 2003 and they went on to dominate the Port Harcourt club circuit until 2005.
Around that same period, he won a local talent hunt contest G.E FACTO held in Port Harcourt.
His big break came in 2007 when he won the Idols West Africa music reality TV show.

Released as a single in 2009, ‘Heaven Please’ features rap by M.I Abaga. It included in the Beautiful Noise album.

Produced by Cobhams Asuquo, ‘Iyawo Mi’ is a love letter delivered with soft soulful vocals by Timi Dakolo and a traditional melody surrounded by horns that add an amazing feel to the song. It was released few days to Valentine Day 2014.
