Nollywood has become the graveyard of some marriages that were conducted with so much fanfare. Some actresses have however risen from the ashes of doomed matrimony and found love again.
Below are six actresses who taken more than one bite at marriage and are presently living happily with their second or third husband.
- Funke Akindele
The latest high profile Nollywood bride, Funke Akindele got married to Abdulrasheed Bello, better known as JJC Skillz, in London shortly before her 39th birthday on August 24. She was formerly married to Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, with whom she tied the knot in May 2012. That marriage was over by July 2013, with both parties announcing they had resolved to go their separate ways.
- Monalisa Chinda
Monalisa’s first marriage to Segun Dejo-Richards ended in 2009 with the two citing “incompatibility and irreconcilable differences.” She later revealed that she practically ran out of her matrimonial home with daughter, Tamar, because of domestic violence. The Keeping My Man actress was joined in traditional marriage to Victor Tonye Coker at a ceremony in Elelenwo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on February 12, 2016. She is currently planning her white wedding.
- Stephanie Okereke
Stephanie was briefly married to footballer, Chikelue Iloanusi. The marriage ended over accusations and counter accusations of infidelity. Iloanusi also blamed his mother-in-law for the crash. Stephanie married her heartthrob Linus Idahosa in 2012 in Paris. The actress welcomed baby Maxwell Enosata Linus in 2015.
- Clarion Chukwurah
Clarion Chukwurah’s marriage to Tunde Abiola ended in 2003. She got married again on February 14, 2004 to Femi Oduneye, a socialite, popularly known as Femi Egyptian. They separated on May 5, 2006 and made about six years ago before they finally got divorced. She walked down the aisle once again with her US-based lover, Anthony Boyd, in April 2016.
