6 Nollywood movies to see during the Sallah break

The Nigerian government has declared Friday, September 1 and Sunday, September 4 as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

Among the places Nigerian will be trooping to during the long weekend are the cinemas in major cities.

With several local and foreign productions on offer, we look at six Nollywood movies to watch on the big screen during the Sallah celebration.

  1. The Tribunal

Fate brings together an albino and a lawyer, the former who claims to have been unfairly dismissed from work as a result of discrimination and the latter presented a second chance in life after an accident results in the loss of his family and a once illustrious legal career.

  1. The OAP

The movie was inspired by a real life event of Olaolu Cole, a popular charismatic, suave and intelligent OAP in Lagos who wants to stand for the truth.

It explores the effects (negative or positive) media personalities have on people in different strata of the society.

  1. My Wife and I


Toyosi and Ebere are unhappily married couple with a failing marriage. After a visit to a famous pastor, they somehow wake up in each other’s bodies, unable to switch back.

They are, therefore, forced to masquerade as each other until a solution can be found.

  1. Banana Island Ghost

A man meets God when he is in an accident and is informed he is going to die.

He must connect with her in three days and help her fight off the worst in this big bad world.

  1. Hakkunde

Akande, a long-time unemployed graduate, faced with life’s pressures, decides to relocate to Kaduna from Lagos when an opportunity presents itself against his sister’s wish.

His expectations on the opportunity are, however, cut short as he has to decide to either learn to survive or return home.
