Nigerian rapper, actor and comedian, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, clocked 26 on Thursday.
His birthday coincides with the release of Chemistry, a collaborative album between him and Simi.
The two artistes are believed to be in a love triangle which has Adekunle Gold as third leg, with fans speculating all the time about who will end up with whom.
To celebrate Falz’s birthday, we look at some of the reasons women love him, and why he won’t have anything to lose if Simi eventually pitches her tent with Mr Gold.
- Respected family background
The Ekiti-born rapper is the son of popular lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN). Falz’s mother, Funmi, is also a lawyer and women’s rights activist. With this kind of respectable family, it is no surprise how quickly any potential daughter-in-law would fall for him.
- Sense of humour
Falz is one funny guy. Not only is he an expert in making people laugh, he’s also very good in laughing at himself. With his funny accent, video monologues and social media posts, why won’t any young woman be taken with him?
- Intelligence
Like his famous parents, Falz studied and qualified as a lawyer. He was called to the bar in 2012 after graduating from the Nigeria Law School, Abuja. The man who traded the wig and gown for the mic and camera has proven to fans that no matter what you study, you can still fulfil your dreams.
- Multi-talented
Falz can sing, rap, act, and compere events. His feature in Jenifa’s Dairy won him the Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series at the 2016 edition of the African Magic’s Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA). He also won the BET Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act in 2016.
- His accent
Falz is known for the “razz” accent he uses whenever he speaks English. Of course he does it intentionally and that endears him to his fans because they say it makes him more approachable. That accent landed him a mouth-watering MTN contract.
- Back to back hits
From ‘High Class’ to ‘Softwork’ and ‘Bad Baddo Baddest’, Falz is one hit making factory. Although he has just two albums – Wazup Guy and Stories That Touch – to his name, he has over 20 hit songs and collaborations. Who can forget ‘Soldier’, the track he did with Simi?
