Pop musician, 9ice, took his dream of going to the House of Representatives closer home on Thursday when he visited his family house, Agbole Pataki, in Isale Ora, Ogbomosho, Oyo State
The musician, born Abolore Akande, was warmly received by elders led by one Pa Ajibeshin, who said he had been receiving positive news about the artiste.
The old man expressed his support for the young man, saying he was convinced that the musician was up to the task.
“I have known him for long and I’m very optimistic that he is capable to run for the position. He has been there for this family. I believe this is the time we have to support him.
“Other people have betrayed us with their sweet mouths that they would care for the welfare of our people. Till date, Ogbomosho is not developed. We are tired of the ill treatment from fake politicians.
“On behalf of Agbole Pataki elders, we are supporting him for 2015,” the old man is reported to have said.
The day before, 9ice was at the Ogbomosho Town Hall, Oja Igbo to inform the people of his ambition to represent Ogbomosho North/South and Orire Federal Constituency 1 at the House of Reps on the platform of the Action Progressive Congress (APC).
“This is for real. I am in this to change the life of my people. Politics shouldn’t be for personal aggrandizement. It is a platform to care for the people and my mission is to care for the people of Ogbomosho. Once I emerge the winner, I am promising to use all my salaries received for four years to cater for the people of Ogbomosho,” he assured.
He joins a long list of Nigerian entertainers presently taking a shot at politics.
