Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, is being linked with the sporting director job at the club.

The Red Devils are restructuring the club under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a bid to improve their transfer strategy.

Ferdinand was a team-mate of Solskjaer between 2002 and 2007 and won six Premier League titles and the Champions League at Old Trafford.
