Clara Chime, estranged wife of former Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, has asked the FCT High Court, Apo to grant her custody of her 10-year-old son.
Chime is seeking dissolution of their marriage of 11 years.
Clara said on Thursday in her response to Chime’s petition that she was ready to divorce her husband but that she be granted custody of their son and for Chime to pay child maintenance fee of N500,000 monthly.
She said she was demanding custody because her son was not properly cared for and that she was only allowed access to him five hours a month under heavy security.
Clara also informed the court that she fell into depression during her marriage because her husband only had sexual relations with her on their wedding night and never touched her afterwards.
She also denied allegations of schizophrenia.
Chime’s counsel, Paul Onya, said she informed the court that in the two previous petitions she filed she had demanded for custody of her child.
Onya then requested to tender the petitions filed at Enugu High Court and a FCT High Court as exhibits before the court.
Counsel to Clara, Achibongu Iyeme, objected that the documents were not certified.
Justice Angela Otaluka ruled that the documents were not admissible and adjourned until June 10 for continuation of hearing.
