Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli, has announced that a court has ruled in her favour after an extensive civil case over her movie, Okafor’s Law.
The 41-year-old movie star announced the victory in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“I am happy to announce to you all that today 2nd of May, judgement was passed and we won the case that Raconteur productions and Jude Idada brought against us and @filmoneng for Okafor’s Law It’s been 2 years!” she wrote in parts.
The actress discussed how bad she felt after the movie premiere was stopped because of a court injunction, appreciating all her friends who supported her during the difficult period.
Canada based writer, Jude Idada, had accused Omoni Oboli of stealing his idea for her movie, Okafor’s Law , in September 2016.
In March 2017, a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday lifted an interim order which restrained the Omoni Oboli from premiering and releasing the movie.
However, the case remained in court, with hearing of the substantive matter commencing in April 2017.
