Foremost Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba, on Friday posted the video of a hotel in Maryland, USA with no room numbered 419.
Capturing the numbers on the entrance to the rooms, the 53-year-old humour merchant showed numbers 414 to 421.
Room 419 was conspicuously missing.
“No ROOM for 419!!!!” he wrote as part of the caption to the video posted on Instagram.
Ali Baba has been in the forefront of the campaign against cybercrime or advance-fee fraud, popularly known as 419 in Nigeria.
The scam typically involves promising the victim a significant share of a large sum of money, in return for a small up-front payment, which the fraudster requires in order to obtain the large sum.
The number “419” refers to the section of the Nigerian Criminal Code dealing with fraud, the charges and penalties for offenders.
Many Americans refer to cybercrime as the “Nigerian prince scam”.
