The 55th posthumous birthday of former Nigerian footballer, Sam Okwaraji, has been celebrated by Google.
The tech giants marked the occasion with the specially themed display of a doodle celebrating the deceased star.
Okwaraji collapsed and died at the age of 25 in the 77th minute of a World Cup qualification match against Angola at the Lagos National Stadium on 12 August 1989.
The cause of his death was later discovered to be a congestive heart failure.
He was born on 19 May 1964 in Orlu, Imo State, Nigeria.
Okwaraji who never played for any Nigerian club was also a qualified lawyer who had a masters in international law from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome.
The highly gifted lanky midfielder with a high range of technical capabilities played for clubs such as Dinamo Zagreb and Vfb Stuggart during his short lived career.
