Entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has confessed that his name is synonymous to controversy.
The 67-year-old made the confession in a chat with punchng.com.
“My middle name is ‘controversy’ and when people do certain things thinking it would hurt me, I use those things as stepping stones to rise higher,” he said in parts.
In the wide-ranging interview, Charly Boy also said that anyone who tried to bribe him was a fool as he has never compromised his beliefs.
He also admitted that being an activist had led him to involvement with ‘strange bedfellows.’
Earlier in the year, the man born Charles Pouts had adamantly denied collecting money from President Muhammadu Buhari’s election campaign spokesman, Festus Keyamo.
A video had appeared online showing Charly Boy admitting that he got paid in nine figures for a diss track criticising Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Responding in a series of tweets, Keyamo said it was absurd for anyone to think he would pay for a song that disses both the APC and PDP.
The embattled OurMumuDonDo Movement sacked Charly Boy as its chief convener and trustee.
