The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has re-elected its national president, Rev. Supo Ayokunle, for another three-year term.
Ayokunle scored 59 votes to defeat his main challenger, Rev. Caleb Solomon-Ahima, who got 44 votes in an election held on Tuesday at the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
Solomon-Ahima is the President of Fellowship of Christian Churches in Nigeria (TEKAN).
Catholic bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, announced the results on Tuesday.
Solomon-Ahima, according to CAN constitution, becomes the vice president of the association.
Ayokunle was born on January 25, 1957, and hails from Isheke in Oyo State.
