A 26-year-old man, Iheme Christian, has been arraigned in a Karshi Grade I Area Court, Abuja for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl and holding her in a hotel room for sex.
Mr Iheme, a resident of Gwarimpa, Abuja was on Thursday charged with abduction.
The court heard that the suspect allegedly abducted a 17-year-old girl and took her to Miami Hotel Karu for the purpose of having sex.
Prosecution counsel, Ayotunde Adeyanju, said the case was reported at Karu Police Station on June 5 by the girl’s mother, Hajara Isah.
Mr Adeyanju said the complainant alleged that the incident occurred in April.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 273 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Anas Isah, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until July 16 for further hearing.
