Chelsea Football Club have welcomed former goalkeeper, Petr Cech, back to the club as a technical and performance advisor.
The 37-year-old retired from professional football after a 4-1 defeat suffered in the Europa League against the Blues with Arsenal.
He pointed out that he was delighted to return to the club in his role where he would work closely with director, Marina Granovskaia.
“I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to join Chelsea FC again and help create the best possible high-level performance environment to continue the success the club has had over the past 15 years.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge and hope I can use all of my football knowledge and experience to help the team achieve even more success in the future,” Cech said.
The Czech previously spent 11 years at Stamford Bridge playing 494 times.
He won every major club honour available at club level, performing admirably in the 2012 UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
In his first season, 2004/05, Cech registered a record 24 Premier League clean sheets as Chelsea secured their first league title in 50 years conceding just 15 goals along the way.
His new role at Chelsea is similar to that previously held by Michael Emenalo, the technical director who resigned in November 2017.
