The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been knocked out the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup by Germany.
Two first-half goals from Alexandra Popp and Sara Dabritz and a third in the second half from Lea Schueller condemned the African champions to a 0-3 defeat.
Nigeria came closest to scoring early in the second half when Desire Oparanozie missed a tap in from a cross by halftime substitute, Rasheedat Ajibade.
There was a long break to treat Chinwendu Ihezuo who suffered an injury in the second half.
She was eventually stretchered off and replaced by Chinaza Uchendu.
