Chairman/chief executive officer of Nigerian Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has joined Nigerians in supporting Busola Dakolo, wife of singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo, who accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) of raping her.
Mrs Dakolo revealed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on YNaija TV that as a teenager in the Divine Delight Club, the precursor to COZA, she was groomed and raped by the pastor.
She said it happened while she was a 16-year-old secondary school student living with her parents in Ilorin, Kwara State.
In a tweet at Timi on Friday, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa called his wife ‘a woman of strength, courage’.
She urged that women should rise and demand justice for whatever harm done to them.
“@timidakolo, what can I say about your wife! A woman of strength, courage. We all, as women, must rise up and demand justice. I sponsored the violence against persons bill which prescribes life imprisonment for rape!!Busola, you’ve got my back!” she wrote.
On a Twitter user’s response to her tweet which called for the pastor’s arrest, Dabiri-Erewa said she was in support of the call.
