Lawrence Daniels, elder brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has reportedly been arrested by the police in Lagos.
According to bloggers, Instablog9ja, Lawrence is currently being detained at the Ikoyi prison following his arrest and arraignment at a magistrate court sitting in Igbosere.
Regina’s brother was allegedly arrested alongside three others, on Friday, July 26, 2019, in Lekki, for assaulting a traffic control policeman.
In June, the police in Delta State arrested Lawrence Daniels, in a video that went viral on social media, he is seen in handcuffs saying nothing had been done to warrant the treatment.
Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, alleges in the video that it was the fourth time the police were arresting Lawrence and that they would not let her children move freely.
“Every time they keep arresting my children,” says Rita in the video.
“This is [the] fourth time. They keep harassing them. What wrong have I done to them? Can’t my children go out again?”
Several police officers are seen clutching their guns as the leader of the team urges Mrs Daniels to talk to him.
One of the young men present at the scene shows his wounded face, claiming he was hit with a gun by one of the policemen.
