Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has redeemed the $50,000 pledge made to the Super Eagles players during the Africa Cup of Nations.
Femi Otedola and Dangote had promised the Nigerian players N27 million per goal scored in their remaining AFCON matches before their semi-final clash against Algeria.
The Nigerian Football Federation confirmed that Dangote had redeemed his pledge in a tweet on Wednesday.
“Business tycoon Aliko Dangote today in Lagos redeemed his pledge of $50,000 to the Super Eagles for their one goal against Algeria in AFCON 2019 semi final. Money was presented by Olakunle Alake, GMD of Dangote Group accompanied by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Corp. Comm. Officer,” they wrote.
Otedola also redeemed his pledge and announced it on social media on Wednesday.
