Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the former governor of the state, James Ibori, on his 61st birthday.
Ibori was governor of the state from 1999 to 2007.
In a tweet on Sunday, Okowa prayed for long life and more wisdom on Ibori.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I wish our former Governor, the ‘Odidigboigbo’, Chief James Ibori, a Happy 61st Birthday. I pray that Almighty God grants you long life and more wisdom to keep serving our state and our nation,” Okowa said.
Okowa had shortly after being re-elected in March described Ibori as his leader.
“I thank the leaders of the party for not just delivering me and my deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, but also two of our senators, nine members of house of representative and 26 members of house of assembly,” Okowa said at a Thanksgiving Service which Ibori attended.
“Most especially, I want to appreciate my leader, former governor, Chief James Ibori.”
