The family of Mark Ediale, a police inspector who was among the policemen allegedly killed by soldiers in Taraba State, are demanding for justice.
Elder brother of the murdered inspector, Andrew Ediale, said at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday that the family was concerned about bringing the culprits to book.

“Our questions are: Who are these soldiers working for? Whose side are they on? And whose payroll are these military personnel on? These and many more questions we demand answers to. We also demand to know the kidnapper was released by the army,” he said.
Mr Ediale added that the family was not after any form of compensation from the government.
Force spokesman, Frank Mba, had said last Wednesday that the officers from the Intelligence Response Team who were taking a kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Wadume, to the command headquarters in Jalingo were attacked by soldiers.
Mr Mba said the police officers were shot dead while the suspect was set free, but the army countered the claim, saying the policemen were mistaken for kidnappers.
The corpses of three policemen arrived at the morgue of Garki General Hospital in Abuja on Sunday.

Ediale called on the Federal Government and international bodies to intensify efforts towards ensuring justice.
“We vehemently speak against the perpetrators of this heinous act by the Nigerian Army and we demand a very thorough investigation by national, international community and as well independent body so that justice will be truly served,” he said.
