Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on Biafrans to ‘disgrace’ and ‘arrest’ President Muhammadu Buhari who will be in Japan on Sunday.
President Buhari will travel to Japan on Sunday to attend the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development.
The TICAD7, as it is known for short, will take place in the City of Yokohama from August 28 to 30.
Buhari had attended the TICAD6 held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2016.
He will be accompanied by Governors Babagana Zulum, AbdulRahmam AbdulRazaq and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Borno, Kwara and Lagos States respectively; ministers and other top government officials.
In a tweet on Saturday, Mr Kanu, the fugitive leader of IPOB, called on Biafrans in Japan to attack the President whom he called an impostor in reference to claims that a certain Jubril from Sudan had taken the place of the ‘real’ Buhari.
“A call to action. If you’re from Biafra, Yoruba, Hausa, Middle Belt, living in Japan, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the impostor Jubril-Buhari is disgraced and arrested. Enough is enough! Our destiny is in our hands. #RevolutionIsNow,” Kanu said.
Kanu had supported the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on August 17 by IPOB members in Nuremberg, Germany.
Senator Ekweremadu was billed to give a keynote address at the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany.
The lawmaker was accused by IPOB members of conspiring with the Federal Government to proscribe the group in the South East and the killing of its followers.
