Africa is one, Wizkid reacts to xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa

Pop musician, Wizkid, has strongly condemned the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

The 29-year-old said this in a tweet on Tuesday.

“Disheartening to watch these videos from my home! You’re fighting the wrong war , fighting the wrong people. How do we walk around hating each other? Africa is one! We’re all the same people! Pls don’t loose yourself! #SayNoToXenophobia One Love ❤️,” he wrote.

He also added that people need to be educated that “we are all humans before anything.”

South African artiste, Cassper Nyovest, had joined other Nigerians celebrities like Olamide, Yemi Alade, Adesua Etomi, Funke Akindele in condemning the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

President of the Nigeria Union South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, had said that recent attacks began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg.

Mr Olubajo said in a statement on Monday that the mob “looted several shops that were around the vicinity suspected to be owned by foreign nationals.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has vowed to take measures over the ‘mindless’ attack on Nigerians in South Africa.

In a tweet on Monday, Onyeama assured that ‘definitive measures’ would be taken to prevent future occurrences.
