Popular comedian, Koffi Idowu-Nuel, has urged comedian not to use rape incidents as materials for jokes.
The comic was speaking with UK-based media and entertainment personality, DJ Abass, in an interview.

He is also well known in the Nigerian and African community in the United Kingdom for presenting and co-producing the television show Intro.
Speaking with DJ Abass, Koffi said: “I’m even still surprised that rape is now being used as materials, coming from where I was coming from, you could not even think in that direction. How did you end up thinking in that direction?”

When asked if there was a body to censor such offensive jokes, Koffi said that there was no such body and that comedian cannot be controlled or tutored.
In June, Koffi said that no sane person should have supported the alleged criminal actions of musician, Naira Marley while speaking at a memorial lecture organised for reggae legend, Ras Kimono, by the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) on Monday.
Speaking about the decline in popularity of reggae music, he said: “The music being made today is to conquer depression, there’s a difference.”
He said that a lot of people listen to music today just to dance without appreciating the spiritual essence of music.
Continuing his address, he added: “Within 24 hours of Naira Marley’s arrest, it was as though they (people) were canvassing for (Nelson) Mandela.

“A lot of the youths are so depressed that the only place they find solace is in that activity the boy (Naira Marley) was talking about.”
