President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, and Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria, Ibukun Awosika, will be part of over 200 qualified and experienced associates who will be conferred with fellowship awards of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) on October 26.
The institute said in a statement on Friday that the award is in recognition of the awardees’ meritorious services, commitment to professional responsibilities and valuable contributions to the banking industry and the economy.

Also on the list is President of African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prof. Benedict Oramah, and chairman of GTBank Plc, Osaretin Demuren.
Others are the Governor, Central Bank of The Gambia, Bakary Jammeh; the chief executive, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) Ade Ayeyemi, and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mahmoud Isa-Dutse.
The list also includes the Managing Director, FBN Quest Merchant Bank, Kayode Akinkugbe; Managing Director, FCMB Plc, Adam Nuru; Managing Director, Nigeria Export-Import Bank, and Abba Bello among many others.
According to the statement, dignitaries expected at the event include governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Former Secretary-General, Commonwealth of Nations, Emeka Anyaoku; Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia among others.

Also to be present are stakeholders, captains of industry, top government and diplomatic officials, financial decision-makers, top management staff of banks and academics professionals.
ECOWAS President Jean-Claude Kassi Brou will deliver the keynote address titled: “Nigeria’s Emerging New Economy: Opportunities, Challenges and Prospects”.
