Celebrity police officer, Dolapo Badmos, has revealed that she does not feel good seeing young people in prison.

In several tweets on Monday, Dolapo said that young people need guidance from older ones to help them make right choices and avoid crime.

“I am a police officer, part of my duty is prevention of crime. Since I joined the force, I’ve never felt good seeing a young man or woman (youth) behind bars. I always felt he/she wouldn’t be there if his or her energy has been properly channelled. If only there was guidance!” she wrote.

“Something within me won’t rest until I see majority of our youth living it rightly. They are our future! We don’t have another country, even the ones abroad just want to be in their fatherland.”

Dolapo, who celebrated 17 years of joining the Nigeria Police Force in August, added that she would not relent in ensuring she helps young people avoid crime.

“Setting things right have never been an easy task for anyone! The journey is full of blackmail, antagonism and attacks! I am aware of all of this, so I’m not slowing down until I’m convinced that I’ve contributed my own quota immensely. Then I will pass the baton,” she wrote.

Dolapo Badmos was in April removed as the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Command, comprising Ogun and Lagos States.

She was replaced by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hauwa Idris-Adamu.
