The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna has sacked Senate spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, of the All Progressives Congress from the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
In a ruling delivered on Wednesday, the appellate court declared Senator Biodun Olujimi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winner of Ekiti South senatorial election.

The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti on September 9 nullified declaration of Adeyeye as winner of the February 23 senatorial election.

The three-member tribunal chaired by Justice Danladi Adeck, in a unanimous decision, declare Olujimi, a former Senate minority leader, as the winner of the election.
In the judgment, the tribunal nullified elections in some polling units which left Olujimi polling 54,894 votes to defeat Adeyeye, who scored 52,243 votes.
The Appeal Court judgment, which was initially scheduled to be delivered in Ado Ekiti, was moved to Kaduna for security reasons.

Security men, journalists and interested party loyalists from the PDP and APC were already seated in the courtroom for the judgment when one of the officials conveyed the message that the case had been moved to Kaduna.
The movement, it was learnt, is not unconnected with mounting tension and violence that could trail the judgment.
