Rita Dominic celebrates spot as Pulse Nigeria’s actress of the decade

Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, has been named number one on the list of top 10 Nigerian actresses of the decade.

The list was released last week by entertainment platform, Pulse Nigeria.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, the 44-year-old said she was honoured to be given the position among others.

“Thank you @pulsenigeria247. I don’t take this recognition for granted. Glad to be in the company of other great thespians I have admired through the years❤️,” she said.

Next she featured in Kenyan film Shattered for which she won 2 more prestigious acting awards from Africa Movie Academy Awards @amaawards_ and East Africa’s Kalasha Awards @kalashakenya becoming the first West African Actress to receive that award. Rita was also the first ever recipient of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice New Era Award in 2014. Rita was a perennial Acting nominee in several awards too numerous to name this past 9 years and has diligently continued to hone and redefine her acting skills. She still considers acting her foremost priority and strives to always give it her all. Coming in 2020, Rita will feature in Kola Munnis’ @incaseofincasity and Mildred Okwo’s @anjolamovie The youngest of four children, she was born into the Royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise in Imo State, Rita started acting in local television dramas at the age of 5. Others are Kate Henshaw (5), Nse Ikpe Etim (4), Sola Sobowale (3), and Funke Akindele-Bello (2).
