A friend of filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, has died of cancer after a six-year battle with the disease.
The 39-year-old tweeted the news early Wednesday though she did not give details.

“Just got some terrible news that’s thrown me the F off. F**k Cancer!!!” she wrote.
After her tweet was misreported by a blog, Kemi clarified saying; “Tweeted ‘F**k Cancer!’ after hearing a friend from film school who’d been battling the disease for 6 years had passed on from it. This morning, Google alert points me to blogs ‘Movie director, Kemi Adetiba has taken to social media to hint at being down with cancer.’ Why??”
The filmmaker has now threatened to take legal action against the writer.

“I might have to take this one up. It’s @Kemifilaniblog. So they can explain to my lawyers WHERE I hinted that ‘I’ Kemi Adetiba was down with cancer. See where ‘first to deliver news’ has placed you?” she tweeted afterwards.
“So this is the ‘journalist’ who wrote the story for @Kemifilaniblog… and his handle is apparently @purplefeelblog. If you’re his friend, tell him I have fashioned a little bit of time to attend to him today.”
