National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, says it is premature to be talking about a successor for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu spoke on Tuesday during a meeting with the President at the Villa.
“It will be mere restlessness to talk about it now,” he said.
His statement counters that of the founder of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, who called on President Buhari on Sunday to be interested in who becomes his successor so as to preserve his legacy.
The Presidency replied saying Buhari would not be involved in the process.
Bakare had in 2018 said during his church service that he would succeed President Buhari.
But Tinubu has also been pushed as a potential candidate for president in 2023.
