Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have begun searching the Abuja residence of former Senator Shehu Sani.
TheCable reported on Wednesday that the officials arrived Sani’s residence located in Wuse 2, Abuja, around 3:30 pm.
The former federal lawmaker, who was arrested on December 31, was alleged to have claimed access to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, some other judges and EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to obtain funds from a businessman, Sani Dauda, owner of ASD Motors, with promises of influencing the outcome of some court cases involving Dauda.
The EFCC has a court order to detain Sani for 14 days.
