Celebrity disk jockey, DJ Cuppy, says her charitable works often go unnoticed.
The 27-year-old said this in a post on social media on Monday in appreciation of Soundcity for the award of Excellence in Philanthropy presented to her last Saturday at the Sound City MVP Awards Festival in Lagos.
“Such a tremendous honour! 🏆🕊 …I am SO grateful to be awarded for something I do which is often unnoticed! #SoundCityMVP #CuppyCares #CuppyFoundation,” she said.
DJ Cuppy, in November 2019, received a donation of N5 billion from her father, Femi Otedola, to the Cuppy Foundation at her Gold Gala event.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbjao was at the event alongside Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and daughter Halima, and the minister of industry, trade and investment, Niyi Adebayo.
Dangote, who is Cuppy’s godfather, made a donation of N100 million.
Cuppy, an ambassador of the Save the Children UK, a non-governmental organisation, said her foundation, which was launched in August 2018, was inspired by a trip to Maiduguri, Borno State.
