Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has knocked a woman for blaming her family’s misfortune on his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
Seun, 37, shared a video on social media on Monday of the unidentified woman addressing a group of youths.
The woman claimed her brothers spent six years in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos after they were arrested on one of their visits to The Afrika Shrine.
She also said the incident impoverished her family as her father sold his two cars while her mother sold her clothes to get their boys out of prison, to no avail.
Seun, however, faulted the woman’s logic, saying he grew up in the Shrine but has no record of jail time.
“Let me advise Nigerian parents, it’s ur duty to raise your kids and this woman is just as dangerous to their psyche as the ‘Marlian’ syndrome u are afraid of! It is because we allow people like this interact with our children we have an educational system that tends to reduce justice as it produces lawyers, reduce health as it produces doctors and created ignorance as it produces teachers hence the more lawyers the less justice,” he said.
The singer added that he was disappointed that ‘everyone’ disrespects Fela.
