An explosion has occurred on Sunday morning at Abule Ado, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos sending residents scampering to safety.
Several houses were affected, including Bethlehem Girls High School, a girls’ only Catholic boarding school. Several students are trapped in the dormitory.
Residents of Ijegun, Ikotun, Egbeda, Okota, Isheri Olofin, FESTAC, and Satellite Town have also been affected.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos, Gbenga Omotoso, according to a tweet by the government, said firefighters are working to put out the fire.
The casualty figure and the number of property affected could not be ascertained at press time.
