Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has responded to the comments made by the president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, over the appointment of Senator Elisha Abbo as a patron of the guild.
In a video she posted on Instagram on Wednesday, the 48-year-old criticised him for dismissing the concerns she raised alongside fellow actress, Hilda Dokubo, and implying that they were not active members of the guild.
The Cross River native also accused Rollas of not consulting other members of the guild before making decisions concerning it.
“…You are not a ‘president’ unto yourself…,” she wrote.
Kate Henshaw and Hilda Dokubo expressed their displeasure over the appointment of Abbo as patron of the AGN on social media on Tuesday.
The actresses argued that the senator’s assault of a woman in an adult toy shop in July 2019 in Abuja, made him unfit to occupy the position.
In an interview with Pulse TV published on Tuesday, Emeka Rollas justified the appointment of Abbo as patron, saying he has not been convicted of any crime.
He also implied that the actresses were not active members of the AGN while suggesting that they should have directed any legitimate concerns they have to the leadership of the guild instead of sharing it on social media.
