Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has praised some high-profile individuals who have disclosed their coronavirus status testing positive.
In a tweet on Sunday, Atiku hailed Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Comptroller-general of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, for revealing that they tested positive for the ravaging virus.
“I wish to recommend the examples of Governors @SenBalaMohammed, @elrufai and CG @nigimmigration Babandede MFR for their disclosure. We can beat this pandemic by being open about it, educating our people, isolation and testing,” he wrote.
“It is not a death sentence, we will all be fine. Be safe; wash your hands, keep social distance and avoid large gatherings.”
Mohammed had in a statement on March 24 disclosed he tested positive for the virus.
El-Rufai revealed his status on Saturday via Twitter while Babandede disclosed his on Sunday.
